Deep Tide TechFlow News, March 3 — According to CoinDesk, U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Chairman Mike Selig stated that the agency will release guidelines for cryptocurrency perpetual contracts within the next month. Selig pointed out that due to previous regulatory attitudes in the U.S., many perpetual futures businesses have moved overseas, and the CFTC is now working to bring “genuine professional futures” back to the U.S.

While attending an event at the Washington Milken Institute with U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Paul Atkins, Selig revealed that both agencies are advancing the “Project Crypto” initiative, which includes providing “innovation exemptions” for crypto innovation and clarifying the regulatory approach for decentralized finance (DeFi) developers. Additionally, the CFTC will establish clear standards and guidelines for prediction markets.
