Deep Tide TechFlow News, on January 10, Ethereum core developer Tim Beiko announced that in the coming months, he will shift his focus from L1 research and development to exploring Ethereum’s frontier application scenarios. Tim stated that the Ethereum protocol is approaching its “end state,” but we are only beginning to explore what a permissionless, scalable, cryptographically secure, and low-cost-to-verify world computer can do.
Tim emphasized that ensuring a smooth transition of responsibilities for the All Core Devs (AllCoreDevs) meeting and the Ethereum Foundation (EF) is his top priority in the short term. He will remain at the Ethereum Foundation, serving as a protocol advisor and working with EF and cluster leadership. Ansgar has agreed to continue serving as ACDE chair. Tim stated that 2026 will be a critical year for Ethereum across all levels, and he is excited to continue his involvement.
