Elon Musk’s pursuit of a trillion-dollar net worth is no longer just talk; at the start of the year, his net worth was $421 billion, and by October, he became the first person in history to surpass $500 billion, making him the biggest winner of the year. His net worth grew by over $333 billion throughout the year, averaging $9.35 million per day. Most global stock markets performed well in 2025, driving the wealth of billionaires higher. The S&P 500 index returned 17% for the year, while major indices in Germany, Japan, and Canada performed even better, with gains of 22%, 26%, and 30%, respectively. Of course, compared to others, some billionaires’ fortunes are even more prosperous: the top ten biggest winners saw their wealth surge by over $729 billion in the past year. Among the top ten, American billionaires occupy six spots, accounting for over 85% of the total wealth increase of these six individuals. This data clearly shows that a new wave of wealth creation is highly concentrated in this country, led by billionaires as presidents and cabinet members with substantial wealth.
