HGS Application Hacked, Bitcoin (BTC) Demanded! Statement Came from PTT!

Bitcoin (BTC) and cryptocurrency usage and adoption are increasing day by day, and hackers are trying to take advantage of this situation.

Many altcoin projects, crypto platforms, and websites are hacked, but this time the hacking incident came from Turkey.

According to NTV’s report, an interesting hacking incident occurred in Turkey. According to the news, The Fast Pass System (HGS) application of PTT was hacked.

Notifications were sent stating that if HGS users do not send cryptocurrency to the specified accounts after the hacking incident, they will be threatened to share their personal information.

The news also included information that besides sending swear notifications to users from the official mobile application of HGS, crypto currency requests were made from users.

According to this, people with the HGS application on their phones received a message “if you don’t send 25 thousand dollars to this Bitcoin address, I will share all the data” from the application.

PTT has issued an official statement regarding the notifications sent to users via the HGS mobile application. Stating that the PTT hack incident originated from abroad, the statement included the following expressions:

Unauthorized access from abroad has been made to our HGS mobile application’s messaging service in the evening hours, and it has been determined that some users have received notifications unrelated to our company within this context.

Along with the detection of the incident, our security systems have quickly come into operation, and necessary technical and operational measures have been implemented.

During the unauthorized intervention in question, there has been no occurrence of data loss or unauthorized access to user information.
