AMD Windows Gaming PC CPU Share Hits 44.97% in May, Within Striking Distance of 45% Record

According to Valve's May 2026 Steam hardware survey, AMD's processor market share in Windows gaming PCs reached 44.97%, marking an all-time high and closing within 0.03 percentage points of the 45% milestone. Intel maintained a leading position with 55.02% market share, narrowing the gap between the two chipmakers to approximately 10 percentage points. AMD gained 0.79 percentage points month-over-month in May, while Intel lost the same margin.
