Iranian Drone Strikes U.S. Military Helicopter in Strait of Hormuz; 2 Crew Members Rescued

According to Axios, on Monday a U.S. military helicopter crashed in the Strait of Hormuz after being struck by an Iranian unmanned drone, Trump said Tuesday. Two crew members were rescued approximately two hours after the incident, recovered by a U.S. Navy unmanned surface vessel off Oman's coast.

A U.S. official stated the investigation confirmed an Iranian drone struck the helicopter, though investigators have not yet determined whether the action was deliberate. The incident occurred during ongoing U.S.-Iran negotiations and one day after Trump brokered a Gaza ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran.
