Gate News message, April 23 — Admiral Samuel Paparo, commander of U.S. Pacific Command, testified before Congress that the U.S. government is operating a Bitcoin network node for cybersecurity-related testing but is not participating in mining. Paparo stated that the military views Bitcoin as a cryptographic tool, blockchain technology, and a reusable proof-of-work system intended to protect and strengthen cybersecurity, rather than as a financial asset to be hoarded.

Paparo also praised the GENIUS Act stablecoin legislation as an "important step" in ensuring the dollar's global dominance.
