Pro of the exchange fires back: Has The New York Times become a propaganda machine?
[Coin World] Brian Armstrong, co-founder and CEO of a leading exchange, recently fired back on social media. He bluntly criticized The New York Times, stating that the long-established media outlet is now more like a “political propaganda machine,” replacing genuine news reporting with emotional content.
Armstrong lamented that the news industry could have played an important role. But now? He said that there is no one around him who sees the NYT as a serious media outlet—except for a few people over 60 on the East Coast of the United States.
Interestingly, he specifically mentioned the Dealbook team under NYT, believing that the culture there is somewhat different.
The most outrageous move has arrived: Armstrong calls on everyone to “give a gift” to friends and family during the holiday season - help them cancel their subscription to the New York Times. This move can be said to express dissatisfaction with mainstream media quite directly.
The tension between the crypto sphere and traditional media has actually been around for more than just a day or two.
