Don't remind me again today

Pulled up the gold charts going back to '71 — been averaging around 7% yearly gains. Pretty solid for half a century of wealth preservation.

Now here's where it gets interesting. Michael Saylor's throwing out a 20% average annual return prediction for Bitcoin over the next five decades. Bold? Sure. Unrealistic? Not necessarily when you consider we're still early in the adoption curve.

Traditional store of value versus programmable scarcity. Physical vaults versus cryptographic security. The comparison writes itself.

For anyone mapping out long-term allocation strategies, the risk-reward calculus between these two assets keeps shifting. One's been tested for thousands of years, the other's rewriting the playbook in real-time.

Digital gold isn't just a catchy phrase anymore — it's becoming a legitimate thesis worth modeling out.

Gold has a 7% annualized return over half a century, while Bitcoin is at 20%? This guy Saylor really dares to say it, but to be fair, the early benefits are indeed tempting.

7% annual stable earnings, or gamble on Bitcoin to double in 20 years? To be honest, I'm a little tempted.

7% annual stable earnings, I'm familiar with this trap in gold... but 20% for Bitcoin? This guy Saylor is a bit crazy, I like it.

Gold has been stable at 7% for seventy years, but Bitcoin is projected at 20% annualized? Is this guy Saylor for real?

A 7% annualized return on gold is stable, but is Bitcoin really worth betting on for the next 20 years? It still depends on their respective cycles. Why are we still entangled in the concept of digital gold... we should have been looking at the adoption curve long ago. Gold vs. Bitcoin, it’s just a bet on who holds the future pricing power. Half betting on the future and half on history, when allocating, it’s still necessary to diversify. Saylor's predictions are just for listening; if you truly believe them, you’ve already lost. Antiques vs. newcomers, in the long run, the landscape will ultimately need to be redefined. The comparison of 7% to 20% is actually quite meaningless, as their ecosystems are different.

7% annualized in gold? Sounds stable, but if Bitcoin at 20% is real, it’s still betting your life for half a century.
