The director of Arcadia BTC, José Flores, acted as a witness to the signing alongside Maciej Cepnik, marketing director of the firm Aureo. The company confirmed its support to back this project as it grows and prospers.

Mérida has recently emerged as an important node for Bitcoin in Latin America. This local educational initiative takes place in a context of accelerated adoption in countries like Bolivia, which is embracing bitcoin and cryptocurrency amid a shortage of dollars and the devaluation of its national currency, the boliviano (BOB).

Arcadia BTC is a Mexican financial company founded in 2017 that became the first company listed directly on the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV) whose central strategy revolves around Bitcoin, following in the footsteps of other leading Bitcoin investment companies.

Now, Arcadia BTC is actively supporting Bitcoin education in Mérida, where the educational and cultural revolution is no longer limited to classrooms or to the large cities of the north. In October 2025, a group of bitcoiners displayed Satoshi Nakamoto’s White Paper in a public square as a symbol of financial sovereignty.

This act, carried out during the inauguration of White Paper House, the first physical center for exclusively Bitcoin education, innovation, and development in southeastern Mexico, marked a turning point. What just a few years ago seemed unimaginable in a conservative and traditional city is now openly celebrated by entrepreneurs.

The signing of an educational agreement on bitcoin between Arcadia BTC and the Software Technology Institute of Mérida demonstrates that education in this context has both strategic and symbolic value. It is a sign that corporate adoption is not disconnected from grassroots work.

Currently, the Mayan Bitcoin Conference is being held until December 7, 2025, at the Hyatt Regency Mérida. The event brings together thousands of participants for talks on financial sovereignty, hackathons, and Mayan cultural excursions, highlighting the role of Bitcoin in emerging economies.
