AIP-137 (Aptos Improvement Proposal 137), which introduces optional support for post-quantum digital signatures at the account level. The proposal adds SLH-DSA (a hash-based signature scheme standardized by NIST as FIPS 205) as an opt-in account signature type. This is designed to protect against long-term risks from cryptographically relevant quantum computers (CRQCs) that could potentially break current signature schemes like Ed25519.
