Zheng Zajie: Focus on developing six major emerging pillar industries and six future industries

People’s Financial News, March 6 — On March 6, at the press conference on the economy during the Fourth Session of the 14th National People’s Congress, Zheng Shanjie, Director of the National Development and Reform Commission, stated that the focus will be on developing six major emerging pillar industries and six future industries. The six emerging pillar industries include integrated circuits, aerospace, biomedicine, low-altitude economy, new energy storage, and intelligent robots. The related output value is close to 6 trillion yuan in 2025, and is expected to double or even more by 2030, expanding to over 10 trillion yuan. The six future industries include quantum technology, biomanufacturing, green hydrogen and nuclear fusion, brain-computer interfaces, embodied intelligence, and 6G. These industries are on the brink of technological breakthroughs; today’s future industries may become tomorrow’s new pillar industries.
