According to CCTV News, on Friday, March 6th, U.S. President Trump declared on social media, “There will be no agreement with Iran unless they surrender unconditionally.” He also stated that the U.S. and its “many allies” will “make Iran great again!”

This statement marks a clear escalation in the ongoing week-long war jointly launched by him and Israel, and this hardline stance could make it more difficult to quickly end the conflict through negotiations.

As a result, U.S. stocks came under pressure on Friday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropping over 900 points at one point, while international oil prices surged, with WTI crude jumping more than 14%, surpassing $90 per barrel. Spot gold rose above $5,170 per ounce, up 1.85% intraday.

Just hours before Trump made these remarks, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi stated that some countries have begun diplomatic efforts to mediate, marking one of the first signs of any diplomatic intervention since the outbreak of the conflict. “Some countries have started efforts to mediate the conflict. We want to make it clear: we are committed to lasting regional peace, but we will not hesitate to defend our national dignity and sovereignty. International mediation should target those who underestimate the Iranian people and ‘ignite’ this conflict.”

However, Trump later declared, “There will be no agreement with Iran unless they surrender unconditionally!”

He also stated, “Afterward, once a great and acceptable leader is chosen, we and many brave and outstanding allies and partners will work tirelessly to help Iran escape destruction, making its economy larger, better, and stronger than ever before.”

Later that day, Trump was scheduled to meet with senior executives of several defense contractors to urge them to accelerate the delivery of more U.S.-made weapons.

The day before, Trump told the media that he demands the right to participate in selecting Iran’s new Supreme Leader, to succeed the late Ayatollah Khamenei, who was attacked and killed on the first day of the war.

Israel has publicly stated that its goal is to overthrow Iran’s current regime. The U.S. government has become more cautious than before the war, stating that its goal is to eliminate Iran’s ability to project power abroad.

On the battlefield, Israel has significantly expanded its military operations in Lebanon. On Friday, after demanding a large-scale evacuation in southern Beirut, the Israeli military launched heavy bombings on the Lebanese capital.

Meanwhile, Israel launched a new round of airstrikes against Iran, claiming that 50 fighter jets attacked a bunker located beneath the former residence of Khamenei in Tehran, asserting that the Iranian leadership still uses this facility.

Within Israel, explosions can be heard everywhere, as Israel’s air defense systems intercept attacks from Iran. The UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia have all reported new drone or missile attacks.

According to Iranian sources, since the U.S.-Israel launched attacks on February 28, at least 1,230 Iranians have been killed. The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that Israeli strikes have caused 123 deaths and 683 injuries.
