Abstract generation in progress

In March 2022, Poland’s cryptocurrency world was shaken by a mystery that remains unsolved to this day. Sylwester Suszek, then 34 years old and co-founder of BitBay—Poland’s largest digital asset trading platform—vanished without a trace. Known as the “king of bitcoins,” Suszek was last spotted leaving a business meeting at a fuel depot. What followed was a complex web of unanswered questions, cryptic communications, and ongoing investigations.

The Crypto King’s Last Day

The circumstances surrounding Sylwester Suszek’s disappearance from the fuel depot on that fateful March morning have baffled investigators. Security footage that might have provided crucial evidence failed to record, as cameras at the location malfunctioned precisely on the day he vanished. Law enforcement conducted comprehensive search operations, yet no physical evidence has emerged to explain what happened to the BitBay founder.

A Sister’s Relentless Investigation

Nicole Suszek, Sylwester’s sister, refused to accept the official narrative and launched her own investigation into her brother’s fate. She became convinced that something far darker had occurred. Through independent efforts, Nicole discovered that her brother’s phone connected to a network just four days after his disappearance—and the device was moving along a highway, far from where he vanished.

The Unsettling Messages

What Nicole uncovered next was deeply disturbing. She began receiving mysterious communications claiming that Sylwester had been kidnapped and murdered. Most chilling was a voice recording that eerily resembled her brother’s voice, though processed in an electronic manner. The message was direct: Sylwester needed help, and the price was extraordinarily high—12 million Polish zloty in bitcoins.

“He sounded like my brother, only somehow electronic,” Nicole explained. “He said he needed help, that I should get some bitcoins, which were worth 12 million PLN at the time, and send them to the address provided in the email. The recording had a text message attached warning: ‘This is not a joke, there will be a photo of the body in a week.’”

Fortunately, Nicole did not comply with the ransom demand. However, additional recordings arrived, escalating the threats with mentions of physical harm and emotional manipulation—including pleas for him to return home for Easter.

An Investigation That Continues

Years have passed since Sylwester Suszek vanished, yet the case remains unresolved and disturbingly active. Nicole herself has faced ongoing intimidation as she pursues answers. The mystery surrounding the BitBay co-founder’s disappearance endures as one of cryptocurrency’s most perplexing unsolved cases, leaving questions about whether Suszek is alive, the true identity of those behind the communications, and whether justice will ever be served.
