Allow assisted driving to "automatically" operate the vehicle; the driver may be charged with dangerous driving.

Today (the 13th), the Supreme People’s Court released the 48th batch of guiding cases. This is the first time the Supreme People’s Court has issued specialized guiding cases on road traffic safety criminal law. Among the cases, the “Wang Mouqun Dangerous Driving Case” attracted attention. The case clarifies that in-vehicle assisted driving systems cannot replace the driver as the main driver. After activating the in-vehicle assisted driving function, the driver remains the person actually performing the driving task and is responsible for ensuring safe driving. This applies even if the driver is not in the driver’s seat. (CCTV News)
