Data released by the Federal Statistical Office of Germany show that, due to factors such as weak automotive industry production, Germany’s industrial output in 2025 decreased by 1.1% compared to the previous year, marking the fourth consecutive year of decline. According to data published by the Federal Statistical Office on February 6, 2025, Germany’s construction output fell by 1.7%, and excluding the construction and energy sectors, other industrial sectors’ output declined by 1.3%. Key sectors such as the automotive industry and machinery manufacturing experienced more significant drops, decreasing by 1.7% and 2.6%, respectively. Restricted by high labor and energy costs and weak external demand, Germany’s industrial output has been shrinking for several years, with declines of 1.5% in 2023 and 4.5% in 2024. (Cailian Press)
