Home Depot reported a decline in its fiscal fourth-quarter profit due to ongoing economic uncertainty, high interest rates, and a stagnant housing market, which are impacting consumer spending on home improvements. The company’s sales fell to $38.2 billion in the quarter. Despite homeowners being a financially healthy consumer group, CFO Richard McPhail noted that uncertainty is affecting their desire to invest in their homes.
