Caixin South China American Chamber of Commerce released a report on March 10th showing that by 2025, U.S. tariff policies will significantly impact the operations of companies in China, with 69% of surveyed companies reporting negative effects, up 15 percentage points from 2024. This is the highest level since the chamber began surveying related issues in 2018.

“Although U.S.-China trade tensions continue, almost all surveyed companies say they will continue to deepen their presence in the Chinese market,” said Harley Seyedin, President of the South China American Chamber of Commerce. “China remains a highly attractive investment destination, and no company has indicated they will completely withdraw from the Chinese market.” The report shows that 45% of surveyed companies consider China their top global investment destination, an increase of 6 percentage points year-over-year.
