In the video, Joanne visits her mother Laura’s office at the Changjiang Center in Central to help tidy up. Reflecting on her long career, Laura appears emotional. She jokes that she joined Cheung Kong’s predecessor ( Hutchison Whampoa) in 1993, and since graduation, except for maternity leave, she has almost never taken a break from work. She admits, “I am very happy to go to work every morning.”

She has always instilled in her daughter the importance of emotional and financial independence. Laura firmly says, “I want to be an economically independent woman, so I decided to go out and work.”
