Local time April 2nd, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi stated during a phone call with Azerbaijani President Aliyev that Iran will defend itself with firm resolve and all available capabilities. Raisi said that Iran was subjected to military strikes by the United States and Israel during negotiations with the US, and emphasized that Iran will resolutely safeguard national security. On the same day, Raisi also exchanged views with Finnish President Alexander Stubb by phone regarding regional developments. During the call, Raisi criticized the EU’s performance on issues related to US and Israeli actions, stating that some European countries’ positions are “negative or even biased.” He also indicated that the current situation in the Strait of Hormuz is a result of military actions by the US and Israel, and stressed that relevant measures are in accordance with international law.
