People doing DIY sometimes get confused when choosing a dust collector. Recently, I tried various models, but the key is really balancing suction power and ease of use. Makita's dust collector has an 8L capacity and 300W of suction power, so it can smoothly suck up wood chips and dust. The fact that the nozzle and pipe can be stored in the main unit is also subtly convenient.

However, it produces about 78dB of noise, so it's not suitable for nighttime work. Another option, Bosch's multi-cleaner, is relatively quiet at 75.8dB and supports water washing of filters, making maintenance easier. Paoock's plastic tank version is also cost-effective at in the 6,000 yen range, and being able to switch between three different heads is subtly useful.

Ultimately, the recommended dust collector is one with high suction power and easy maintenance. Also, choosing a compact design that’s easy to use anywhere is a good idea. I think the best choice is to pick one that matches your work style.
