DOJ Backs xAI Challenge to Colorado AI Bias Law

The U.S. Department of Justice moved Friday to intervene in xAI’s lawsuit against Colorado over SB24-205, which is set to take effect on June 30. The law would require high-risk AI systems used in areas such as hiring, admissions, and mortgage lending to assess and reduce discrimination risks, disclose how they work, and notify consumers when AI affects consequential decisions.
