Colombia and Venezuela have reached an agreement to cooperate in combating border crime.

On the 24th local time, Colombian President Petro visited Venezuela and held a joint meeting with Acting President Delsi Rodriguez, after which a joint statement was issued. The two countries reached agreements in 7 areas including cooperation to combat border crime. Petro is the first foreign head of state to visit Venezuela after President Maduro was forcibly controlled by the United States. After the meeting with Rodriguez, Petro stated that both sides had reached an agreement on cooperation to combat border drug trafficking. In addition, the two countries will also cooperate in the fields of immigration, education, culture, trade, environmental affairs, health, and national defense.
