US sanctions Iran-linked Tron wallets after $344M USDT freeze

The US Treasury’s OFAC sanctioned two Iran-linked Tron addresses tied to $344 million in frozen crypto. Treasury officials said the wallets were linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and Hizballah. One day earlier, Tether said it froze more than $344 million in USDT at the request of US authorities for activity tied to unlawful conduct, but it did not explicitly mention Iran. Scott Bessent said the move was aimed at weakening Tehran’s ability to move and repatriate funds.
