Ethereum Privacy Transfer Proposal EIP-8182 Draft Release, Aiming to Incorporate Confidential Transfers into the Protocol Layer

Mars Finance News: Ethereum developer Tom Lehman has released the EIP-8182 draft proposal, aiming to introduce shared privacy pools, fixed address system contracts, and zero-knowledge proof verification precompiles into the Ethereum protocol layer, making private transfers a native feature of Ethereum. The proposal states that the plan will be implemented through a hard fork upgrade, without admin keys, governance tokens, or on-chain upgrade mechanisms. The goal is to address the issues of privacy application anonymity set fragmentation and inconsistent trust models. According to the design, users can perform private transfers to any Ethereum address or ENS name using existing wallets, and support atomic processes such as “desensitization - interaction - re-privacy.”
