ME News report. On April 7 (UTC+8), there is uncertainty about the timeline for the confirmation of Kevin Waugh’s nomination for Federal Reserve Chair, because major Republican senators oppose moving forward with his nomination while the current Chair, Powell, is still under investigation. William Williams, President of the New York Fed and Vice Chair of the Federal Reserve Policy Committee, said that this uncertainty is not an issue for the Federal Reserve. Earlier this year, the Federal Open Market Committee voted to have Powell serve as Chair of the Policy Committee, and before Waugh is confirmed, Powell may continue to hold this role. Williams said, “We are just focused on doing our own work. There is no issue of continuity within the committee.” ( Jin ten ) (Source: ODAILY)
