Another Cargo Ship Attacked While Attempting to Pass Through the Strait of Hormuz

On April 22, local time, Vanguard Maritime Intelligence reported that a cargo ship was attacked while trying to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, marking the third vessel to be attacked that day. The Panama-flagged cargo ship ‘MSC Francesca’ was attacked approximately 6 nautical miles off the coast of Iran while sailing out of the Strait of Hormuz and heading south into the Gulf of Oman. The ship reported damage to its hull and living quarters. Earlier that day, the UK Maritime Trade Operations issued reports of two other vessels being attacked in the same area.
