🚨Google just confirmed it's pouring up to $40 BILLION into Anthropic.
Here's how Google's Anthropic stake has grown:
2023: $300M initial bet (~10% stake)
Late 2023: $2B added
2025: ~$1B follow-on
2026: up to $40B confirmed
That's a roughly 13,000% jump in three years.
The deal includes $10B in cash NOW at a $350B valuation, plus another $30B tied to performance milestones.
To put it bluntly, Google just spent more on Anthropic this week than Anthropic earns in three years.
In 2026 alone, the hyperscalers, that's Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, and Alphabet, are set to spend a combined $700B plus on AI infrastructure.
Meanwhile, McKinsey is projecting $5.2 trillion in global AI data center capex by 2030.
That's roughly the size of Japan's entire GDP, spent on one industry, in five years.
