I find that my tolerance for floating losses is really ridiculously low... Clearly, both -2% and +2% are the same, but I treat the latter as if nothing happened, while the former can wake me up three times in the middle of the night to check my positions. Honestly, losing money feels like a system alert, earning a little feels like a notification popup, so I just dismiss it casually.
Maybe it's because I write contracts too much, and my brain defaults to "bad things will definitely happen," so whenever I see a green, I start imagining a chain explosion: should I stop loss, should I add more, did something go wrong somewhere. Last week, when I saw the cross-chain bridge being hacked again, I became more cautious. Blockchains aren’t unreasonable; they’re just colder than people.
Now I’ve also learned a bit of the “wait for confirmation” approach, especially when oracles occasionally report outrageous prices. Don’t rush in impulsively—wait for a couple of blocks, wait for consensus to settle before acting... Otherwise, the loss isn’t just money, it’s sleep. Anyway, I’m this kind of cat—fearful the more I am, the more I want to try, which is pretty annoying.
