BlockBeats News, April 25 — OpenAI CEO Sam Altman apologized to the Tambleridge community in Canada for failing to report to law enforcement the banned account related to Jesse Van Rootselaar.

According to police, Jesse Van Rootselaar murdered 8 people at a school in February this year and then committed suicide. OpenAI previously stated that the company banned Van Rootselaar’s account last year due to policy violations, but the issue did not meet the internal standards for reporting to law enforcement. Sam Altman said he has spoken with Tambleridge’s mayor and the Premier of British Columbia about this tragedy, describing the community’s pain as “unimaginable.” (Jinshi)
