Yifan Chang: Lebanese residents in southern Lebanon are temporarily not allowed to return to their homes
On April 3rd local time, Israeli Defense Minister Katz stated that the Israeli military will maintain security control over southern Lebanon up to the Litani River. Until the safety of residents in northern Israel is guaranteed, Israel will not allow the approximately 600k residents who have evacuated southern Lebanon to return home. Katz said that the Israeli military is continuing to advance its ground offensive in southern Lebanon. Katz also stated that some houses near the Israel-Lebanon border are considered strongholds of Hezbollah, and the military will refer to the operational models used in Rafah and Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip to dismantle related facilities to eliminate security threats.
