Vice Premier of the State Council and China’s lead for the China-Canada Economic and Financial Strategy Dialogue He Lifeng met in Beijing on the afternoon of the 3rd with the Canadian Minister of Finance and co-lead for the dialogue, Pengfei Shang. He Lifeng said that both sides should jointly implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, deepen cooperation in areas including economic and trade and finance, and promote the stable and sound development of China-Canada economic relations. Pengfei Shang said that Canada attaches great importance to its relationship with China and is willing to work with the Chinese side to advance economic and financial cooperation and achieve more practical results. The two sides agreed to hold the Economic and Financial Strategy Dialogue in the second half of this year. He Lifeng and Pengfei Shang also jointly met with representatives of the China-Canada Financial Working Group and the roundtable of financial institutions, welcoming financial institutions from both sides to conduct business development in each other’s markets.
