The U.S. Treasury is sanctioning multiple wallets linked to Iran after Tether helped freeze $344 million in cryptocurrency across two addresses. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the effort aims to track and disrupt financial lifelines connected to the regime. U.S. officials said the funds moved through intermediary addresses linked to wallets connected to the Central Bank of Iran to evade sanctions and facilitate international trade. Chainalysis data showed the wallet activity was consistent with fund flows tied to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
