On April 25, the Wall Street Journal reported that a senior Iranian diplomat stated Iran is open to negotiations with the United States but will not abandon its uranium enrichment activities. Iran’s ambassador to India, Mohammad Fattali, posted on social media on Saturday, saying, “Negotiations can only yield proper results when our opponents acknowledge our country’s right to peacefully utilize nuclear energy.” The report noted that the US is currently seeking to have Iran suspend its uranium enrichment program for up to 20 years.
