While the domestic industry of multimarket funds totals just over $1.5 trillion in assets under management, the international industry totals $4.3 trillion. Of the total invested assets, 60% is in the US, 20% in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, 12% in Asia and only 2% in other regions.

If we consider only UCITS, European funds that follow rules for diversification of their portfolio, liquidity, and use of leverage, this number drops to US$ 235 billion. In this environment, 54% are diversified, 37% invest in equities, credit, or alternative assets, and 9% aim to mitigate risks.

International funds in reais can be accessed today on platforms of brokers and national investment banks. Major institutions offer third-party funds, including international asset managers. But if investors are interested in funds that are not distributed here, they should access direct investment platforms abroad, such as Avenue and the international arms of C6, XP and BTG.
