After the wave of AI has risen, data storage has indeed become a necessity. Recently, I noticed that BitTorrent is working on a decentralized storage solution, using their BTFS distributed file system.
To be honest, in scenarios like model training and large file distribution, traditional centralized storage is costly and has high single point risk. The P2P architecture of BitTorrent, with its cross-regional node collaboration, can theoretically solve many pain points—bandwidth sharing, disaster recovery, and privacy protection all have inherent advantages.
Of course, the implementation of technology depends on actual performance. However, in terms of direction, the combination of decentralized storage with AI computing power demands makes sense. Let's see if the subsequent ecosystem can truly attract developers and applications.
