Tobis, NeoView vehicle display screen relists... KOSDAQ market reacts positively
With Tobis deciding to spin off its automotive electronic display business and relist as the new company Neoview, the KOSDAQ market responded positively. The Korea Exchange KOSDAQ Market Headquarters has approved the preliminary review results for Tobis’s spin-off and relisting.
As an original manufacturer of monitors and display equipment, Tobis plans to spin off its automotive electronic display division through a personnel separation method and relist as Neoview. This is part of the plan announced when the spin-off decision was officially confirmed in November last year. After the spin-off, the remaining company will retain its casino display and other business divisions.
The spin-off is scheduled to be implemented based on July 1, 2026, but may be adjusted if necessary according to the resolution of the spin-off company’s board of directors. The spin-off ratio is set at 0.6463178 for Tobis and 0.3536822 for Neoview. Based on its original industrial and automotive display manufacturing business, Tobis achieved sales of 623.8 billion KRW and an operating profit of 58.4 billion KRW last year.
This relisting through the spin-off is expected to provide each business unit with more specialization and enhance market competitiveness. Tobis launching Neoview as a new company can be seen as a strategic decision to promote diversification and innovation.
It remains to be seen whether this change will improve the professionalism and focus of each business unit while increasing investor and market expectations. Additionally, some analysts believe that such corporate restructuring could contribute to long-term value enhancement.
