"Pizza Index" fluctuation reappears, with store orders around the Pentagon soaring to 227%
BlockBeats News, May 23 — The "Pizza Index," which the market jokingly calls the "barometer" of U.S. military actions, has once again experienced abnormal fluctuations. Monitoring account Pentagon Pizza Watch's latest data shows that the current order activity at Domino's Pizza, located 1.4 miles from the Pentagon, has surged by 227%, and another nearby Pizzato Pizza, about 2.2 miles away, has seen traffic rise to 167%.
Currently, the "DOUGHCON" alert level has been raised to Level 1 on Friday evening. The so-called "Pentagon Pizza Index" has long been regarded by some internet users as a civilian indicator for observing potential major U.S. military actions or overtime situations.
BlockBeats reports today that despite ongoing diplomatic efforts, the Trump administration was still preparing for a new round of military strikes against Iran on that day. As of the afternoon, no final decision had been made regarding whether to launch the attack. Trump posted on social media that, due to "special circumstances related to government affairs," he would be unable to attend his son Donald Trump's wedding this weekend. He had previously planned to vacation at his private golf course in New Jersey before the "Memorial Day" weekend but has now decided to return to the White House.
