According to Decrypt, Ethereum developers are advancing two new standards, ERC-7930 and ERC-7828, to improve the user experience of cross-chain transactions. ERC-7930 provides a standardized format for computers, clarifying the network to which an address belongs; ERC-7828 converts addresses into a human-readable format, such as “readonly@decrypt.this”, reducing losses caused by address confusion when users transfer funds between different networks. The multi-protocol team Wonderland introduced at the Ethereum L2 interoperability working group meeting that current wallets and protocols lack a unified standard for parsing and displaying cross-chain address information. The new standards are expected to be finalized on May 9, after which they will be implemented in wallets, blockchain explorers, and cross-chain protocols. The Ethereum Pectra upgrade is scheduled to go live on May 7, having been delayed due to Testnet issues.
