Gate News Report, March 8 — The White House has temporarily halted the release of a federal security alert warning that conflicts with Iran could pose a greater threat to the U.S. homeland. The alert was jointly drafted by the FBI, Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC), and was originally scheduled to be distributed to state and local law enforcement agencies. A White House official stated that the administration requested a delay in issuing the alert to further review its accuracy. The official said the document, drafted by the DHS Office of Intelligence and Analysis, was “not detailed enough and poorly written,” and needs to be reassessed. The White House indicated that it is standard procedure for intelligence alerts to be reviewed by the White House before release, to ensure the information is accurate, current, and thoroughly verified.
