Gate News reports that on March 12, U.S. Energy Secretary Rick stated he will take full responsibility for incorrect posts on X and will personally review future posts to prevent such incidents from happening again. On March 11, Rick posted on X that the Navy had escorted an oil tanker through the Strait of Hormuz, but later deleted the message, causing significant fluctuations in the oil market. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was later asked about Rick’s deletion and stated that the U.S. did not escort the vessel. Earlier today, Rick said that currently the U.S. Navy cannot escort ships through the Strait of Hormuz, but it is “very likely” that this arrangement can be achieved before the end of the month.
