UK sanctions individuals associated with Cambodia’s Crown Prince Group, including Hu Xiaowei, and the virtual currency platform “New Coin”

Gate News message: On March 29, Reuters reported that after Cambodian prince group founder Chen Zhi was detained for more than two months, the UK further imposed sanctions on a Southeast Asian scam network. The sanctions documents published by the UK show that Hu Xiaowei (English name “Wu Anming”) has been added to the sanctions list. The documents state that he is closely connected to Chen Zhi and the Prince Group and is a “long-term collaborator of Chen Zhi,” providing support such as financial services, economic resources, and technology. In addition, the virtual currency trading platform “Xinbi” was also sanctioned. The UK believes that “Xinbi” is one of the largest illegal markets in Southeast Asia, providing crypto-currency services to scam centers, including selling stolen personal data and satellite internet equipment used to contact victims.
