After the Ethereum network completed the Fusaka upgrade, transaction fees significantly decreased, with an average of over 2 million transactions per day and a 60% increase in active addresses. Low Gas fees have led to "dust attacks," accounting for 11% of total transaction volume and 26% of active addresses, doubling compared to before the upgrade.

Odaily Planet Daily reports that the recent surge in Ethereum network activity may be related to address poisoning attacks using low Gas fees. In the week of January 12, new addresses reached 2.7 million, a 170% increase over normal levels, with daily transaction volume exceeding 2.5 million. The December Fusaka network upgrade reduced transaction fees by over 60%, lowering the cost of such large-scale spam attacks. Currently, 3.8 million addresses have received dust assets in their first transaction, accounting for 67% of new addresses. To date, 116 victims have lost over $740,000 as a result.
