A TSMC representative confirmed to Tom's Hardware that the power outage did occur but did not confirm whether it resulted in wafer losses. The power outage originated from the UK industrial gas supplier Linde, which is responsible for supplying critical materials to Fab 21. Although the Fab 21 plant itself did not experience a power cut (equipped with backup generators), the disruption in the supply of critical materials forced the plant to halt production for several hours and caused potential losses.
