Sam Altman's Worldcoin launches Orb Mini and kicks off in the United States

Worldcoin, co-founded by Sam Altman, has launched in the US with new iris-scanning $Orb Mini devices in cities including Atlanta, Austin, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, and San Francisco. US users who pre-registered received 150 $WLD tokens. The $Orb Mini aims to simplify iris scanning and may later function as a point-of-sale terminal for payments via World wallets. The World app 4.0 update introduces features like verified profile pictures, Stripe integration, prediction markets, DeFi lending, and native USDC support. Worldcoin has 26 million accounts and 12 million verified users. Despite the launch, the $WLD token price showed little change. $Orb manufacturing is now in Texas, and the company plans expansions in gaming and dating verification in Japan and South Korea.
