It's the sixth day, and today I discovered a little trick while doing it: if everyone goes to mark tasks during off-peak times, avoiding peak hours, it seems easier to grab tasks.

I tried it myself, and it really is much smoother, no need to keep waiting.

So it is recommended that everyone doesn't crowd into one time slot, but instead stagger their actions; this may lead to more stable returns.
