Understand in one article the AI project Nillion Network listed on Binance.

1. Project Overview
Nillion Network (hereinafter referred to as Nillion) is a decentralized infrastructure project focused on the storage and computation of high-value data with security and privacy protection. It is dubbed the "first blind computer for humanity" (Blind Computer), achieving data processing without the need for decryption through Privacy-Enhancing Technologies (PETs), thereby decentralizing the trust mechanism - similar to the logic of decentralized transactions in blockchain, but targeting sensitive data.
Nillion's core vision is to initiate a "data renaissance" that supports ecosystems such as personalized AI, decentralized trading, and identity verification, unlocking vast application space in the Web3 domain.

Nillion was founded in 2021 and has raised approximately 50 million dollars through 6 rounds of financing, with investors including Hack VC, Hashkey Capital, Distributed Global, and Maelstrom.

The project's mainnet was launched in 2024 and officially entered the Binance Launchpool on March 20, 2025, becoming the 65th project on the platform.

Binance will officially launch spot trading on March 24, 2025, at 13:00 ( UTC ), supporting trading pairs such as NIL/USDT, NIL/BNB, NIL/FDUSD, NIL/USDC, and NIL/TRY.

During the Launchpool period, users can farm the $NIL token by staking BNB, FDUSD, or USDC for a duration of 3 days.

As of October 12, 2025, the price of $NIL is approximately $0.244142, with a 24-hour increase of 6.32%, trading volume reaching $23.47 million, and a market capitalization of approximately $69.72 million. After its listing, the price of $NIL experienced fluctuations, but overall performance remained stable, benefiting from Binance's liquidity support and ecosystem exposure.

2. Technical Architecture
The technical core of Nillion is "Blind Compute," which allows data to be transmitted, stored, and computed without exposing plaintext. It integrates various PETs, including Multi-Party Computation (MPC), Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE), Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs), Linear Secret Sharing Scheme (LSSS), Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT), Trusted Execution Environment (TEE), and Garbled Circuits. Its MPC protocol Curl is based on LSSS and supports complex operations such as division, square root, trigonometric functions, and logarithms, achieving information-theoretic security through a two-phase workflow (preprocessing and computation), which is the highest level of cryptographic standard.

The network adopts a dual-layer architecture:

Coordination Layer (nilChain): A blockchain execution environment built on the Cosmos SDK, responsible for governance, payments, rewards, cryptoeconomic security, and inter-cluster coordination, supporting IBC interoperability, accessible via Keplr or Leap wallets.

Arrangement Layer (Petnet): Handles computation and storage, integrating PETs through compilers and node clusters, supporting four levels of abstraction (independent blind modules, SDK integration, multi-protocol modules, and cluster deployment). Nodes can be horizontally/vertically scaled without the need for global shared state.

Node anatomy includes cryptographic preprocessors, secure resource libraries, coordination interfaces, public particle databases, and program libraries. PETs are introduced in phases: Phase 1 (HE + LSSS MPC), Phase 2 (DWT + LSSS + TEE), Phase 3 (FHE-MPC + DWT + TEE + public computation + ZKP).

The project has published 8 research papers covering topics such as Web3 security handling, private LLM, and MPC comparison.

3. Core Functions and Applications
Nillion's features focus on privacy as an "enabler" rather than a "constraint," supporting the following areas:

AI Privacy: The nilAI suite includes AIVM (secure AI inference using MPC and Meta’s CrypTen), nada-AI (PyTorch-like library supporting NN, CNN, linear regression), and nilTEE (TEE-based LLM inference). It supports private LLM inference (protecting model and user input) and private RAG (semantic search vector database with no plaintext risk).

Decentralized Physical Infrastructure (DePIN): Providing confidential backends for IoT, agriculture, supply chains, and more.

PETs Storage: nilDB is an encrypted distributed NoSQL database that uses MPC to shard data, supports SQL-like queries, aggregation, and consensus-based access, and operates through a RESTful API.

Access Control: NUCs and nilAuth are based on UCAN extensions, supporting encrypted signature permissions without central coordination.

The application demonstrations include: quantum-safe P2P messaging, encrypted transactions (anti-front-running), private medical analytics, trustless gaming, private MFA (behavioral/geographical/social-based), decentralized storage, and composable digital identity. Current production applications include nilGPT, LouisAI, Tickr, MonadicDNA, and Stadium Science.

4. Team
Nillion core team has extensive experience:
Alex Page (CEO): Former Hedera SPV General Partner, Goldman Sachs banker.
Andrew Masanto (CSO): Co-founder of Hedera, founding CMO of Reserve.
Slava Rubin (CBO): Founder of Indiegogo.
Dr. Miguel de Vega (Chief Scientist): 30+ patent holder in data optimization, Ph.D.
Conrad Whelan (Founder CTO): Founding Engineer of Uber.
Mark McDermott (COO): Former Head of Innovation at Nike.
Andrew Yeoh (CMO): Early Hedera SVP partner, former UBS and Rothschild banker.

The team has over 10 years of experience in privacy infrastructure, including NSF-supported research (such as PETs for web applications, data analysis, private matching workflows, and large-scale MPC metrics).

5. Tokenomics
$NIL is the native coin of Nillion, with a total supply of 1 billion pieces (1,000,000,000 NIL). The initial circulating supply is approximately a portion of the total supply (specific Launchpool allocation includes user farming rewards), with the remainder released through a unlock schedule.

Allocation and Use:
Payment: Used for computation, storage, AI inference, and service fees (native gas or $NIL).
Staking: Coordinating layer validators and Petnet nodes for network security and rewards.
Governance: On-chain voting, based on staking $NIL ratio, covering functions, rewards, pricing, and partner proposals.

Unlocking Schedule: The project has recently updated the detailed allocation and unlocking plan, including Launchpool rewards and marketing activities (such as an additional 25 million NIL from Binance, allocated 6 months after listing). The specific emissions and releases are based on the roadmap stages, emphasizing sustainability and community incentives.
