In the golden autumn season, in Foshan, Guangdong, the National Finals of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Entrepreneurship Competition and related activities were recently held here. After the preliminary and semi-final rounds, 150 entrepreneurial projects stood out from the 7,146 projects that registered nationwide to compete in the national finals.

The competition is organized by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and others, featuring five tracks: artificial intelligence and robotics, integrated circuits and low-altitude economy, medical health and biological manufacturing, food technology and modern agriculture, and modern services and cultural creativity, highlighting the trend of industrial innovation and development. At the same time, various supporting activities will promote the effective connection of entrepreneurial resources in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The "Talent Demand Directory of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Mainland)" released at the competition shows that the industries with a high degree of talent shortage include the new generation information technology industry, biomedical and health industry, and new energy industry, among others. Many of the participating projects are based on these industries, showcasing entrepreneurial vitality and gathering innovative synergy.

"Many participating projects align with the current cutting-edge development of the industry, and many companies' technologies have reached an internationally advanced level. The projects cover various upstream, midstream, and downstream fields, reflecting a good industrial ecosystem." said Xiao Guowei, a judge in the integrated circuit and low-altitude economy track.

"What are the difficulties in the implementation plan?" "How will the revenue look in the next two years?" "What kind of company do you ultimately want to become?"... In response to the judges' questions, entrepreneurs answered one by one, gaining insights on industry and corporate development during the exchange, and engaging in deeper thinking about forming core competitiveness, building business models, and coping with market risks.

"In the competition, we see more pragmatic entrepreneurial projects related to hard technology. Seizing business opportunities at the forefront of industrial development. Data shows that during the event, entrepreneurial projects reached a tentative investment agreement of 2.51 billion yuan with investment institutions.

When the reporter met Jin Xia, the CEO and co-founder of Yike Bio, a participant in the medical health and biomanufacturing sector, he had just secured an intended investment of 60 million yuan from the Sichuan Merchants Fund. "Our project focuses on the treatment of infectious diseases such as AIDS and various types of cancer. We will utilize the funds well to accelerate the commercialization of our products," Jin Xia said.

The person in charge of the Hong Kong Science Park Corporation, the entrepreneurial incubation platform of this company, also came to the competition site. "We have built a highly specialized platform to provide comprehensive support for biomedical companies in the preclinical and early clinical stages. Medkey Biotech is one of the beneficiaries of this platform," said Jan Yiwun, Director of Innovation Development at Hong Kong Science Park Corporation. She hopes to provide support for more outstanding entrepreneurial projects in the competition, contributing to technological innovation and industrial development.
