The Chinese government has issued guidance stating that all new data center projects that receive national funding must use domestically produced AI chips. Data centers with a completion rate below 30% must remove all installed foreign chips or cancel their purchase plans; for projects with a higher completion rate, it will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

The new guidelines cover Nvidia's H20 chip, as well as more powerful processors like the B200 and H200.
