Opera’s MiniPay stablecoin with new LatAm integration

MiniPay links USDT to Mercado Pago and PIX

MiniPay is an app that runs on Celo and can now enable over 10 million users to use their balances of stablecoins to pay their local stores. The new Pay like a local feature uses Noah to tie MiniPay with Mercado Pago in Argentina, and with PIX in Brazil. The two systems dominate their markets and cannot be done away with in day to day financial activity.

Mercado Pago has over 72 million active clients in Argentina. PIX is utilized by the majority of the Brazilian population, as well as PIX makes significantly more transactions than cards. Opera expands its reach through regional ramp partners

Additional expansion in the form of El Dorado, which is a P2P ramp that enables users to transfer between fiat and USDT in minutes, is also planned by MiniPay. El Dorado enables six markets in Latin America, and the process is instant and transparent in terms of pricing.
